Welcome to Selby Sub Aqua Club 973. We’re a family friendly club based in Selby, in the heart of North Yorkshire just south of the gorgeous city of York. We meet weekly for our group socials, conduct training, welcome interested divers to our try dive sessions and for those not quite old enough yet offer snorkelling programmes to develop their comfort in the water.
For those already qualified to Scuba Dive we offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere, you can join the club, take advantage of our club boat and embark on some new adventures with like-minded people.

We are BSAC branch 973, meaning we’re the 973rd BSAC branch in the UK. BSAC stands for the British Sub Aqua Club, established in 1953 it is the National Governing Body for scuba diving and snorkelling in the UK.
We’re a non-profit scuba diving club with the simple aim of exploring the underwater World, and having lots of fun in the process.
We offer a wide variety of BSAC courses from snorkelling to entry level and advanced diving. We meet regularly in Selby town centre and conduct our pool diving at Selby WLCT leisure centre.

Have you ever wondered what breathing underwater feels like? Have a curious mind to explore what lies beneath our surface?
If so, booking a try dive with one of our experienced instructors is exactly what you need. We offer try dives in the safe confines of a swimming pool, a BSAC qualified instructor will introduce you to some basic skills, show you the equipment needed to take your first breath underwater and offer you an opportunity to explore. Try dives cost just £20 and include all equipment and the session lasts approximately an hour and a half. Parents, partners, and friends can watch from the poolside.

If you have always wanted to learn to dive or are simply curious about scuba diving, then a Try Dive with Selby Sub Aqua Club is the perfect introduction!
In the safe confines of the pool, a BSAC Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills and equipment needed to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time. Try Dives cost £20. A typical Try Dive session lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes. It involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor.
